Whilst not matching the technical and aesthetic merit of his later pictures, this is an interesting example of his early work. (50cms x 60cm) Provenance - The vendor's aunt ,Edith Heyes, was a school friend of Cecil Kennedy whose nickname for her was "Shingle". When she married Frank Smith they became neighbours of the artist and his wife Winifred and they exchanged Christmas cards over a number of years (copies of some are available on request).
